Department: Engineering

Reports to: Manager, Mechanical Engineering

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Aurora, Ontario

Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Mechanical Designer to join our team in Aurora. This position is responsible for the structure and packaging design of new antenna and filter products for use primarily with base station systems, vehicles and handheld devices in public safety and mobile communications systems. In addition to short term deployment driven tasks, you will have the opportunity to develop novel concepts and innovative new designs that satisfy long term antenna product needs of the market and company.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in meetings with Engineering team to analyze customer or system requirements, design and development of various products
  • Work collaboratively with electrical engineers to create product structure design, from concept to details
  • Apply design parameters, such as material, surfacing finishing, dimension and tolerance, to CAD model and drawing
  • Ensure mechanical design complies with product specifications, manufacturing requirements and target cost, company procedures, regulations and standards
  • Provide support during the pilot run and manufacturing process
  • Support product transfer with other facilities
  • Provide support to our customer service team when they have technical issues from customers
  • Generate prototype part design drawings
  • Markup drawing changes as needs for ECRs
  • Work on and release assigned NPRs or ECRs
  • Explore new design technologies, enhance professional job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging manufacturing technologies and practice
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent area of study;
  • 4+ year of industry experience on developing products;
  • Solid understanding of fabrication/manufacturing processes;
  • Proficiency in Solidworks, including 3D modeling, drawing, dimensioning and tolerance labeling;
  • Preference will be given to candidate with the knowledge of Solidworks PDM and Teamcenter PLM software;
  • Must be able to accommodate multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment, must be self-directed and willing to take initiative
  • Excellent technical writing skills.

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Aurora, Ontario

Summary:

As Quality Engineer, you will take ownership in identifying problems related to Quality, working with various teams to come to the resolution of the problems and supporting continuous improvement of product, processes and the quality management system. You will also address all areas of enterprise operations to achieve quality and operating objectives.

 Responsibilities:

  • Drive process and product improvements to reduce internal defects and external warranty;
  • Establish and maintain an effective quality report/matrix and database, manage the quality KPI, drive continuous improvement on quality index and manage/reduce the cost of poor quality;
  • Lead the incoming quality inspection process, in-process quality control, internal audit program, gage and calibration process, and material tractability activities to assure effectiveness of the Quality System;
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvement;
  • Work with Materials & Planning and Sourcing department to improve cost, lead time and inventory reduction;
  • Lead the supplier quality assurance and sample qualification process, implement effective supplier quality management processes to make sure the supplier (both 3rd party and intercompany) products meet Sinclair’s quality standards;
  • Facilitate and promote problem-solving tools (the seven quality control tools, the seven management and planning tools, root cause analysis, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), 8D, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, PPAP and other like models);
  • Identify quality-related training needs and direct training activities. Provide necessary training to all employee and promote quality awareness.
  • Measure and monitor customer satisfaction and take corrective action as appropriate. Manage and maintain customer scorecard to meet and exceed the customers’ expectations;
  • Develop, define and recommend quality policy and set objectives to meet business needs;
  • Support management reviews of the quality system to align the system to the business strategy;
  • Occasional domestic/international business travel;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Quality Management or a similar technical discipline.
  • Have 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Be a hands-on self-starting team player and have the ability to read blueprints & Interpret GD&T on drawings.
  • Experience with Engineering Change, MRB, RCA/8D, FMEA, PPAP.
  • Working experience of ISO 9001 quality management systems, internal or external auditor experience is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills (including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio, MS Outlook and ERP).
  • Experience in the telecommunication products industry is preferred.
  • Be able to work within and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • ASQ certification preferred.

Department: Shipping/Receiving

Reports to: Shipping Group Lead

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Aurora, ON

Responsibilities:

  • Packing materials and products manually for distribution
  • Transporting or moving products (approx. 30-40 lbs) to workstation for packing in a safe and secured manner
  • Performing basic quality control checks, including evaluating product labeling for accuracy and product appearance prior to packing
  • Folding, stapling and taping boxes, as required
  • Applying labels and stacking boxes on pallets according to procedures provided
  • Accurately recording order data on various computer programs
  • Demonstrating proficiency in packing all components and sub-components for all products
  • Using of tools properly, including carton stapler, tape dispenser, pallet jack and general tools
  • Utilizing proper techniques for lifting/packing/handling heavy objects, reaching, pushing/pulling and cutting
  • Monitoring inventory levels of associated packing materials
  • Ensuring products are properly packed in a neat, safe and organized work area
  • Consistently meeting minimum required production, accuracy or quality standards for work performed; and
  • Complying with company Health, Safety, and Personal Protective Equipment policies
  • Assisting with any other aspect of the shipping team’s duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written and spoken communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic numerical ability (counting, addition, multiplication)
  • Mechanically inclined: able to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to use pump truck
  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Valid forklift driver’s license is a plus
