1951
Sinclair Radio Laboratories Ltd. founded by Dr. George Sinclair.
1953
Began design work on antennas used by fighter jets.
1958
Developed wide-band antenna for Alouette I satellite.
1960
Incorporated in the USA and opened manufacturing facility in Tonawanda, NY.
Entered the specialized land mobile antenna business developing a two-way radio
antenna disguised as a functioning side-view mirror for undercover work by the
FBI and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
1965
Designed antennas used on the Gemini spacecraft.
1968
Released COMSHEL - Shelter to house communications, designed for hostile
environments in remote locations.
1969
Designed multicoupling network for ISIS I satellite.
Designed Excalibur antenna for Stealth Bomber- Arrow Avro.
1973
Designed antenna systems for Toronto’s CN Tower.
1975 - 1980
New innovations lead the Company into new markets, supplying air-to-ground
antennas in the 220 MHz and distance measuring equipment for airports around the
world.
1980
Sinclabs created as a separate division to distribute aftermarket products for
the North American market.
1988
One of the Company’s products is mounted on a mast in the center of the Olympic
flame for the Winter Olympic Games .
1990
Company’s equipment is used by the U.S. military in Operation Desert Storm.
1994
European subsidiary opened in Cambridge, England.
1995
Company’s name changed to Sinclair Technologies Inc.
1997
Received ISO 9001 certification.
1999
Designed antennas for Pelorus Navigation and Honeywell International for systems
used in the precision landing of commercial aircraft.
2000
Pioneered development of very low intermod antennas for cellular, UHF and VHF
applications (PIM standard).
2001
Launched line of antennas and filter products specifically designed for TETRA
networks.
Awarded a 5 year General Services Administration (GSA) agreement as an approved
vendor to the USA federal government.
2002
Launched new line of high performance cross-coupled filters.
Received ISO 9001: 2000.
2004
Launched Systems Division to focus on custom antenna combining solutions for VHF
and UHF trunked radio communication systems.
Entered into agreement with Motorola to assemble trunked radio systems for
Canadian customers.
2005
Awarded a approximately $1 million dollar contract to supply custom designed
antennas for major Subway in Europe.
Launched the low PIM ( Passive Inter-Modulation) series of antenna products.
2006
Awarded purchase orders to supply antennas and filters for multiple USA state
wide PMR networks.
Awarded approximately $1 million contract to supply combining equipment to a
major police agency in Canada.
Launched the Opti-Q and space efficient cavity filter products.
Awarded approximately $800k contract to supply combining equipment to a major
aviation customer in the USA.
2007
Added a sales office in Baltimore/Washington to grow and support Homeland
Security and Federal government business.
Awarded a 5 year GSA agreement as an approved vendor to the USA federal
government.
CO Developed with industry leading key OEM products for ( OBA ).
Added sales offices in Miami and Vancouver to focus on Latin America and Asia
sales.
Launched the 700/800 MHz family of antenna products covering 746-869 MHz for the
USA market.
Began shipping 220 MHz Custom systems to a Class 1 railroad.
Designed and released the Heated Yagi Series.
2008
Awarded ISO 9001:2008.
Released dual and triple antennas within a single radome.
2009
Mobile line introduced to the US market.
StealthWaveTM antenna released, designed for stealth use by law
enforcement agencies.
RET-Remote Controlled Electrical Downtilt antenna series released. |
